The Dead Filmmakers Society

Once again we make our forlorn journey into the reality of expiring filmmakers, showing us that unfortunately filmmakers also die.
This week The Dead Filmmakers Society remembers actor Herbert Lom (11 September 1917 - 27 September 2012) whose notable cinema appearances include The Return of The Pink Panther 1975, The Dead Zone 1983, King Solomon’s Mines 1985 and The Ladykillers 1955. With over 60 years in acting Herberts presence in cinema will be sorely missed.
The Dead Filmmakers Society

Once again we venture into that tumultuous reality where filmmakers unfortunately also die.
This week The Dead Filmmakers Society remembers Roman Kroitor ( December 12 1926- September 16 2012) canadian filmmaker whose time in film brought us the IMAX producing the first IMAX fim Tiger child 1970 and is also credited by George Lucas as the creator of the force concept in Star wars.
According to Lucas he listened to a conversation between artificial intelligence pioneer Warren S. McCulloch and Roman Kroitor discussing the nature of human life, McCulloch believeing that humans were nothing more than machines.
Kroitor insisted that there was something more that connected all living beings, which he described as a force.
Cinema and countless Star Wars fans have much to thank the film innovator for. He will be missed on and off the screen.
